"And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ," Ephesians 4:11-12
Each one of us has been given gifts according to the grace we are given by Christ. The Lord's hope is that we would come to use those gifts in service to him. By using our gifts, we can better serve the Lord by helping to perfect the saints and continue the ministry and building of the Church. However, when it comes to spiritual gifts, a lot of people run into two big problems.
- They're not really sure what gifts or talents they have been given by God.
- They aren't sure how those gifts and talents can be used to further their service to the Lord.
One of the missions of Oasis is to Equip the members of the church for their ministry. Therefore, the first thing that we will focus on is helping you to figure out what talents or gifts the Lord has given to you for your service to him. Sometimes, these gifts may be easily visible, and other times, they may take a lot of development. After these gifts have been discovered, we will help you to figure out how to use those gifts to serve the Lord. Many times, that will mean finding a service area in which your gifts and talents can be used to full fruition. Other times, that will mean helping you to create a brand new service area. The final step in our equipping process is to continue to help you refine and develop those talents and gifts so that you can be the best possible servant to the Lord. This will more than likely mean finding and connecting you with someone else in your service area who can continue to help you develop. Most importantly, remember that you won't be alone on this. Once you've made the decision to serve the Lord, and to use your gifts for his glory, we will be there the entire way to help and assist you in your service. Whatever help you need, we are more than glad to give it to you.
