we love freshmen!

What's not to love? The beginning of every new year here at Ohio State always comes with some funny freshman stories. These are stories of those bright-eyed and bushy tailed young men and women who have come to Ohio State with a hope for a better life.

You can usually spot them because they've either got a red folder or an ohio state map in hand and look pretty confused. Whatever the case, they have found their way into the heart of the people of Oasis… we love freshman. With that in mind, here are some survival tips if you are an Ohio State freshman.

  1. If you want to avoid looking "dazed and confused", don't wait until the day of to find classes. A day or two before classes begin, plot out your course and you just might save yourself an embarrassing encounter with someone who does know where they are going.
  2. Shower shoes are crucial, foot fungus is a friend to no one!
  3. Find genuine community and people who have your best interests at heart.
  4. Cartoons and caffeine can be your best friend or your worst.
  5. The "Freshman 15" is not a myth. Avoid the Deluxe meal plan at all costs!
  6. Be selective about the friends you hang out with. They quickly become your family and have great influence over you.
  7. Exercise. You'll need it just to get around this bohemouth campus!
  8. Get to know Jesus. College is the best time to find Him for yourself. Take the opportunity. You'll never have this chance again.
